This afternoon — weather permitting  — the Great Bend High School Panthers baseball team will open their season in non-conference action at Hoisington.
The first game of the doubleheader is set to start at 4.
The Panthers’ scheduled season opener with Western Athletic Conference foe Liberal on Tuesday was postponed because of wet grounds at the City of Great Bend Sports Complex.
The Liberal home doubleheader has been rescheduled for Thursday, April 26, at 4 p.m.  Only the varsity will be playing.
Off to a 4-0 start, the Lady Panthers softball team makes the trip to Hoisington for non-conference action today, starting at 4.
Coming off a solid showing at the Salina Central meet on Monday, Great Bend’s varsity golf team travels to McPherson for a meet today at 2.
The Lady Panthers’ soccer team hosts Garden City today at 4.
