Class 5A Great Bend High School makes the short trip to 3A Hoisington tonight for non-conference action.
The Lady Panthers, who placed fourth out of eight teams last weekend at the Lady T-Bird Classic Basketball Tournament, take a 7-5 record into tonight’s game with Hoisington (5-6). It tips at 6.
The Great Bend Panthers, idle since beating Larned 52-30 in a non-conference game at Panther Fieldhouse last Tuesday, takes a 5-7 mark into tonight’s 8 o’clock game with the Cardinals (11-2).
Great Bend entertains Liberal on Friday night in Western Athletic Conference play, the first of five straight home dates in February. GBHS also hosts Buhler on Tuesday, Feb. 5; WAC opponent Garden City on Friday, Feb. 8; Scott City on Saturday, Feb. 9 (senior parent recognition night); and WAC foe Dodge City on Friday, Feb. 15, Hall of Fame night.

Ticket sales open for GBHS Hall of Fame luncheon
Ticket sales for the Great Bend High School Hall of Fame luncheon begin today in the activities office at GBHS. The luncheon is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 15, at 11:45 a.m. at the Highland Convention Center.
The 2012 inductees include 1968 graduate Karla (Bender) Leibham and Bill McKown, class of 1974. Tickets are $15. To purchase a ticket for the luncheon, please contact the activities office at 793-1560.

• Panthers wrestling team to host quadrangular
The Great Bend High School wrestling team will play host to a Western Athletic Conference quadrangular on Thursday, to be held at the Panther Athletic Center.
Great Bend wrestles Garden City, and Hays takes on Liberal at 4 p.m., followed by Great Bend vs. Liberal and Hays vs. Garden City at 5.
