Cardinals roar past Panthers

HOISINGTON – Hoisington tailback Hunter Hanzlick rushed for four touchdowns and gained 154 yards to spark the Cardinals past Nickerson 64-8 in a Central Kansas League rout Friday night. The Cardinals (6-0, 4-0 CKL) rushed for 332 yards.
Hanzlick scored on runs of 1, 8, 18 and 26 yards to lead the Cardinals to a 46-8 halftime lead. Wingback Cameron Davis, also seeing time at quarterback, scored rushing, receiving and on a 59-yard punt return.
Peyton Kuhns rushed for 83 yards and scored Nickerson’s touchdown on a first-half scoring drive. The Panthers lost five fumbles and had a pass inter-cepted.
Hoisington’s Sean Urban scored on a 75-yard run. Cameron Davis scored on a 5-yard TD pass from Tyler Specht and added a touchdown run. Alex Schremmer added a rushing touchdown. Tanner Cassity returned a fumble for a touchdown. Sean Urban, Landen Urban, Austin Doonan and Kirk Reisner also received fumbles. Wyatt Pedigo intercepted a pass.
Nickerson (4-2) will play Wichita Trinity (3-3) for Homecoming in the first Class 4A-Division 2 District game Friday night.
