ELLSWORTH — In a competition between two ranked teams in Class 3-1A, the Hoisington High School wrestling team opened the dual portion of their schedule on Thursday, topping Ellsworth on the road 43-21.
The Cardinals are ranked No. 2 in the latest Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association poll, while Ellsworth is ranked No. 10.
Trailing 21-12, Hoisington swept the final six matches to outscore Ellsworth 33-0 and win.
Hoisington is back in action on Friday when it hosts the Cardinal Corner Classic Varsity Tournament, which starts at 3 p.m. at the Hoisington Activity Center.
