LINCOLN – Central Plains captured the Amos Morris George Stephens Classic for the eighth year in a row with a 66-33 victory over Russell. The Oilers (4-0) play St. John Tuesday.
Oiler All-stater Emily Ryan scored 35 points. Ryan is averaging 39 points per game. The Oilers’ Avery Hurley chipped in 10 points.

LINCOLN — The Oilers claimed back-to-back Amos Morris Stephens Classic titles by handling Phillipsburg 59-27 on Saturday night.
Central Plains was led by a pair of 20-point scorers — Alex Barton with 21 and Alex Hickel with 20. The Oilers (4-0) will head to rival St. John on Tuesday.
