Chiefs place fifth at Pratt Tournament

PRATT — Jared Maneth drove in four runs with three doubles as the Great Bend Chiefs rolled past Garden City 15-4 for fifth place in Saturday’s Smoky Ford Wood Bat Baseball Tournament.

CHIEFS 15, GARDEN CITY 4 – Payton Mauler started a nine-run second inning scoring on an error. Brice Kaiser singled home Cory Burnham. Konner Ireland singled home Keaton Reneau. Logan Perry scored on an error. Maneth’s double scored Dalton Bieker. Brayden Smith scored on Logan Perry’s groundout. Mauler’s double scored Max Jerke. Burnham’s single scored Mauler for a 9-0 lead.
Dalton Bender scored on a wild pitch and Maneth scored on a balk for an 11-0 lead after three innings.
Kaiser scored on a hit batter, Chance Perry scored on an error and Maneth’s double scored Bieker and Jerke for a 15-0 lead.

CHIEFS 9, GARDEN CITY 0 –Logan Perry and Koy Brack combined for a two-hit shutout for a 9-0 run-rule victory over Garden City. Perry pitched two shutout innings and Brack threw three shutout innings. Brack and Brayden Smith each drove in two runs.
The Chiefs scored six second-inning runs. Konner Ireland singled home Cory Burnham. Brice Kaiser scored on Brayden Smith’s groundball. Dalton Bieker scored on a wild pitch. Smith scored on an error. Payton Mauler and Max Jerke scored on an outfield error for a 6-0 lead.
The Chiefs scored three runs in the fourth inning. Smith’s double scored Ireland. Brack’s single scored Smith and Logan Perry for a 9-0 lead.

PRATT 10, CHIEFS 2 — The Pratt 86ers gained revenge for a loss last week with a dominating 10-2 victory over the Great Bend Chiefs in Friday’s Smoky Ford Baseball Tournament.
Great Bend’s Payton Mauler doubled and scored on a double steal in the second inning. Koy Brack singled home Konner Ireland in the fifth inning.
Pratt scored four first-inning runs. Travis Theis singled home Landon Studer. Theis scored on Wyatt Schrag’s groundout. Drew Roadhouse doubled home Justin Lamatsch and Hunter Huber for a 4-0 lead. Nate Kolm scored on a wild pitch and Theis tripled home Kaden Evert in the second inning for a 6-1 lead.
Grant Bolen singled home Schrag in the third inning. Studer scored on Theis’ sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. Schrag and Roadhouse scored when Nate Kolm’s groundball was misplayed for a 10-2 score.
Pratt pitcher Grant Bolen struck out seven batters.
