Eagles finish seventh at state tournament

DODGE CITY — The Ellinwood High School boys’ golf team finished seventh after a playoff against Ness City in the Class 2A state golf tournament at Mariah Hills Golf Course on Monday.
The Eagles combined for a 355. Oberlin finished in first place at 339.
Jared Oelke led Ellinwood with a third-place finish, shooting a 76. He tied for second with Kade Brown of Oberlin, but lost in a playoff.
Ryley Ney shot an 86th for 19th place.
Gavin Vink finished with an 87, Tyler Capps carded a 106, Trey Mosier shot a 107 and Allex Kowalsky rounded out his day at 113.
