ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood’s Tyson Martinez scored 14 points to spark the Eagles past Plainville 42-40 in a non-league basketball game Tuesday. Martinez had four assists and two steals. Cody Wondra contriburted 12 points and seven rebounds. Kaleb Schartz dished out five assists. The Eagles (12-5, 3-2 CPL) play Otis-Bison Friday at home.

ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood’s Brittney Beck scored 24 points to boost the Eagle girls past Plainville 49-44 in overtime in a non-league basketball game Tuesday. The Eagles (3-14) outscored Plainville 12-7 in overtime and made 16 of 22 free throws. Ellinwood’s Madison Ward scored 10 points. The Eagles play Otis-Bison at home Friday.

ROZEL — Spencer VanMeter scored 16 points to spark the Pawnee Heights past Bucklin’s boys 57-56 in a SPIAA basketball game. Kade Scott scored 11 points and Trevor Miller and Ryan Klenke each added nine points for the Tigers (5-12), who travel to Ingalls Friday.
Cameron Birney led Bucklin with 26 points.

Catera Hoffman scored 12 points and freshman Katie Amspacker added 11 points for the Tigers (3-14). The Tigers travel to Ingalls Friday.

MACKSVILLE — Macksville’s Sophie Filbert scored 22 points and the Mustangs edged Otis-Bison 40-39 in a Central Prairie League basketball game.
Filbert scored five points and Lyset Ibarra hit a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs (5-13, 1-6 CPL) outscored the Cougars 17-8 in the third period. Taylor Regan scored 13 points and Haley Vondracek scored nine points for the Cougars (8-10, 1-5 CPL). The Cougars play at Ellinwood Friday.
