CIMARRON- Ellinwood girls track combined for 109 team points and a second place finish out of nine teams at Thursday’s Cimarron Invitational. Ellinwood boys took the eighth slot with 20 points. Meade won the championship in the girls division while South Gray posted the top spot in the boys meet.
McKenna Rugan placed second for the girls in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.67 before a third place finish in the 400 meter at 1:02.06. Joanna Streker took the gold in the 1600 meter run timing in at 5:51.04 and finished in third place in the 800 meter at 2:39.15. Abbie Reichuber and Maddie Hayes placed third and fourth with times of 5:53.18 and 6:06.61.
In the 3200 meter run, Jayden Rudzik polled first place honors with a time of 12:35.11.
Rugan, Bailey Baird, Emma Ricker and Cailey Carmen won first place in the 4x400 relay at a time of 4:21.51. Rugan then teamed up with Carmen, Strecker and Abbie Reichuber to claim first place in the 4X800 relay and a time of 10:53.23.
In girls field events, Cassie Dimitt was third in the shot put with a throw of 33.07 ft. Hayes and Dimitt then finished first and second place in the javelin with throws of 126 and 119 ft.
In the boys meet, Jacov Kasselman placed fourth in the 3200 meter run at time of 11:39.56. Kasselman, Avery Pike, Destin Baker and Breavan Phelps were third in the 4x800 relay with a time of 9:38.99.
In the field, Jordan Duvall placed fourth in the long jump at 19 ft.
