KIAAA CONFERENCE
A couple of proposals generated a good amount of interest and will now be discussed in depth during the league meetings as well as at the KSHSAA level. First, the implementation of “contact time” during the week of football practice may be set which will maximize the amount of time spent during the week in various levels of contact. This policy will also affect what athletes can do at the beginning of the season and the day after games in regards to “contact”. There is also a proposal to change the girls’ cross country race distance from 4k to 5k. If approved, the new measures will be implemented for the 2016-17 school year.
