Ellinwood wins Bennington track meet

BENNINGTON — Both Ellinwood High School’s track and field teams seized first place at Bennington on Saturday.
The Eagles finished with 106 points, beating second-place Ell-Saline, which scored 68.
The Lady Eagles managed 104 points to top Minneapolis’ 87 points.
Sophie Hayes led Ellinwood’s girls with two individual first-place finishes. She won the 100-meter hurdles (15.41 seconds) and the 300 hurdles (50.24).
Amanda Tucker finished first in the discus with a throw of 93-9.
Pedro Montoya won the 1,600 (4:46.23) and the 3,200 (10:21.03) for the Eagles.
Kyle Oglesbee claimed first in the 800 (2:04.18).
