The Great Bend High School bowling team beat Dodge City in a home match on Tuesday night.
The match, which was originally scheduled to have a three teams — Salina South, Dodge City and GBHS — became a showdown between two Western Athletic Conference foes after Salina South was unable to attend.
“They both won tonight,” Great Bend head coach Mike Perry said. “Both the boys and the girls beat Dodge City.”
For the Lady Panthers, the top bowler was Miranda Hejny, who threw a 627 series and recorded a high game of 227.
“Hejny did really well tonight,” Perry said. “She beat the Great Bend High School record as a freshman. The highest series was 603 held by Kayci Huslig.”
Eric Ruiz had a big night for the Panthers, rolling in a 617 series and 224 high game.
