McPHERSON — On a last-minute goal, the Great Bend High School girls’ soccer team beat McPherson on Tuesday night 2-1.
Lady Panthers’ Berenice Prieto broke a 1-1 tie with one minute remaining in the game on an assist from Brandi Schneider.
Neither team scored in the first half, and McPherson jumped ahead 1-0 when Great Bend’s Morgan Harwood scored an own goal on a corner kick.
Christina Hernandez tied the game at one goal apiece with a 20-yard shot to beat McPherson’s goalkeeper.
Great Bend, 5-8-2 overall, hosts Junction City on Thursday.
