Fresh off a resounding 49-35 road victory over three-time defending Western Athletic Conference champion Dodge City High School, the Great Bend Lady Panthers return home to Panther Fieldhouse tonight.
The Lady Panthers, 5-3 overall, 2-1 WAC, take on non-conference opponent Larned (2-7).
Tipoff for the girls varsity game is set for around 7:45. The freshman girls game starts at 4:30, followed by junior varsity game at 6:15 and then the varsity game.
It was truly a successful week last week for the GBHS basketball program. Both the Lady Panthers and Panthers registered home wins over arch-rival Hays before both knocked off Dodge City on Friday night at United Wireless Arena.
Dodge City’s boys are the two-time defending WAC champions.
While Great Bend’s boys are idle on Tuesday, the Panthers are making preparations for their annual trip to El Dorado to play in the Bluestem Classic.
The Panthers, who are the No. 7 seed, take on No. 2-seeded Wichita Collegiate on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the opening round.
The three-day tournament ends on Saturday.
