WICHITA — Inclement weather forced the Great Bend High School track team to miss half of the meet at Wichita State over the weekend.
Part of the team competed on Thursday, but the weather kept the rest of the team at home on Friday.
Of the part of the team that competed, the highest-placing performance for Great Bend in the Class 6-4A division belongs to Simon Sullivan, who finished in fourth place with a throw of 156 feet, 11 inches in the javelin event.
Also for the Panthers, Chon Chavez took fifth place in the 1600-meter run, crossing the finish line with a time of four minutes, 46.70 seconds.
For the Lady Panthers, Kaitlyn Tuey took sixth place in the 3200 run with a time of 12:40.85.
Rubi Torres, who competed in the Elite division at the meet, took fifth place in the 3200 run with a time of 12:11.76.
