Two eagles at the par 5s sparked the winning team in Thursday’s Kansas State Central Kansas Catbackers golf tournament at Great Bend’s Stoneridge Country Club.
The winning team shot 14-under-par 57, keyed by eagles at Nos. 3 and 7. Team members were Nick Klug, Martin Cairney, Alan Crowther and Taylor Braet.
The first flight winners at 9-under-par 62 were Chad Sommers, Great Bend boys basketball coach Tim Brooks, Mike Minton and Barton Cougar golfer Kelby Titus.
The second-flight winners shot 6-under-par 65 – Kody McDowell, Jerry Ney, Chuck Hefner and Eldon Foster.
Prize winners included Chelsea Fryheart, women’s long drive, No. 3; Dennis Call, closest to No. 4 pin; Andrew Kotina, longest drive, No. 5; Mitch Haney, longest senior drive, No. 10; and Mike Harbaugh, longest putt, No. 15.
