Great Bend 8th-graders battle Hays

Playing against Hays Middle School is always a battle for the Great Bend Middle School eighth-grade basketball team. A recent game against Hays did not disappoint.
The eighth-grade Panthers moved the ball well, converted great shots and hit the boards hard. It just was not enough to secure the win, as Hays Middle School escaped with a 38-31 victory over the Great Bend eighth-graders.
“The boys have made significant improvements this season,” said Great Bend coach Kyle Kriegh. “Opposing coaches have complimented our team. It was great to see our guys battle against Hays.”
The Great Bend eighth-grade B team started out a little slow, but quickly picked up their game and dominated the boards posting a 22-17 victory.
Corbin Stanley scored six points and pulled down eight rebounds.
The Panthers play their Western Athletic Conference League Tournament. The A team plays at Dodge City Comanche Middle School. The B-team plays at Dodge City Middle School.
