LAWRENCE — The Great Bend High School boys’ cross-country team finished 27th out of 36 teams with 635 points at the Rim Rock Farm Classic on Saturday morning.
The Lady Panthers finished 33rd out of 35 teams with 829.
“It was pretty sloppy,” Great Bend head coach Todd Kaiser said of the weather conditions. “Both teams had to run in the rain. The boys had heavier rain, so conditions were slicker.
“Overall, I thought the kids ran well. We didn’t light the world on fire, but we kept improving. I was happy with the way they competed.”
Christian Graham led the Panthers with a time of 17 minutes, 57.3 seconds, taking 72nd place out of 259 competitors.
Karen Razo led the Lady Panthers, finishing in 112th place (17:57.1) in the 240-runner field.
Great Bend travels to El Dorado on Saturday, starting at 9:45 a.m.
