DODGE CITY — Great Bend’s Allison Neeland shot 94 to place 14th at the Dodge City’s Golf Invitational at Mariah Hills Golf Course. The Panthers shot 431 and placed ninth, counting scores by Taylor Hommertzheim 107, Halley Sanders 114 and Kaily Griffith 116. The Panthers compete at Garden City's Buffalo Dunes Golf Course Monday.
Two-time Class 5A state runner-up Emma Whitaker of Wichita Kapaun-Mt. Carmel shot 70 for medalist honors, 12 strokes ahead of Hays High’s Katie Brungardt. Three-time defending state champion Kapaun-Mt. Carmel (359) placed first and Maize High (387) finished second.
