DODGE CITY — Great Bend Middle School’s Juan Sanchez scored the game’s only goal for a 1-0 soccer victory over Dodge City Comanche Middle School April 5. The two teams battled strong keeping a shutout in place until 15 minutes into the first half.
“Our boys played tough,” said Great bend coach Jesus Loera Jr. “When you play a team like Dodge City, usually the more physical team is going to win. The boys played well as a team. The entire team’s effort earned the victory.”
DODGE CITY COMANCHE 2, GBMS B 0 — Despite the 2-0 loss to Comanche, based upon the effort, the boys should see a win soon, according to Loera. He said the Panthers struggled with possessing the ball during their first game, but showed tremendous improvement against the Coyotes.
“Many of the players are learning their positions,” Loers said. “Their teammates are showing great improvement with every practice and game.”
