On Thursday afternoon the Great Bend Panthers traveled to Liberal to wrap up their regular season. The Lady Panthers dominated their opponent as they won 10 of the 11 points that were possible. Junior Kylynn Keeler led the Panther attack as she bowled her career best series of 607. Keeler bowled games of 254, 153, and 200 to earn the gold medal. The Lady Panthers swept the medal count as Hanna Pfeifer bowled a 535 series for second place and Allie Brodrick bowled a 500 series to claim third place. The Lady Panthers will enter into next week’s WAC Tournament in first place with a 12 game lead over Dodge City.
In boys action Great Bend found themselves on the losing side of the action. The Panthers were only able to win three of the 11 possible WAC points. The lone bright spot was freshman Jordan Black. Black brought home first place for the Panthers by bowling a series of 606. The Panther boys will head into next week’s WAC Tournament with a two game lead over the Buffaloes of Garden City.
Both Panther teams will be in action next week on Thursday in Liberal for the WAC Tournament. Action is slated to begin at 12:30 p.m.
In junior varsity action it was Alex Snyder winning the gold medal for the Lady Panthers with a series total of 428 pins. Tylar Wagner brought home the gold for Panther Boys with a series total of 483 pins. Junior Keaton Reneau won the second place medal by bowling a 471 series.
The next action for the junior varsity squads will be on Tuesday in Great Bend when they host the WAC Junior Varsity Tournament. Action will begin at the Walnut Bowl at 12:30 p.m.
