Great Bend takes on Liberal tonight

The Great Bend boys and Panther girls will seek a basketball sweep tonight. Kody Crosby, Trey Ibarra and Shade Wondra have paced the Panther boys (2-11, 0-3 WAC), who have exceeded 50 points one time this season.

Great Bend’s girls (6-7, 2-1 WAC) have been paced by Lauren Welsch, who has averaged 22 ppg the past three outings. The Liberal boys (7-6, 0-3 WAC) and Liberal girls (3-10, 1-2 WAC) will make the journey from Liberal to Great Bend for the Panthers’ homecoming.

The other key matchup is the No. 2 state-ranked Central Plains boys (11-2, 3-0 CPL) at defending state champion and No. 1 ranked St. John (13-0, 3-0 CPL).
St. John’s boys won the first non-league meeting at Claflin.
In Central Kansas Leaguebasketball action, it’s Larned at Halstead and Hoisinton at Kingman.
