DODGE CITY — For the second year in a row, the Dodge City-Great Bend wrestling match went down to the final match. Dodge City’s Tylor Garcia downed Great Bend’s Gage Fritz 8-2 to deliver a 39-33 victory over the Panthers. The match started with the 152-pound division and ended with the 145-pound division.

Brandon Schooler (152) and Braulio Vargas (160) handed the Panthers a 12-0 lead on back-to-back pins. Dodge City won the next four matches until Noah Presson and Cody Liles won on forfeits.

But Dodge City won four of the final six matches in the hotly-contested match. Great Bend’s George Weber won 5-3 and Keaton Sander won on a pin.

The Panthers stunned the Red Demons 32-30 last year when they won the final four matches. Great Bend’s Keaton Sander beat Dodge City’s Garcia 3-1 in the final match last year.
