The Hoisington High School girls’ golf team won a Class 3-1A regional title at Barton Lake Golf Club on Monday.
The Lady Cardinals, who hosted the tourney, carded a 411, topping Cheney, which finished second with 416, and Medicine Lodge, which placed third at 585.
Hoisington’s Hannah Wilborn won an individual title, shooting a 93 in the wind and rain.
“We did better than I thought we could considering how bad the weather was,” Hoisington head coach Bruce Cooper said. “It was fine until we handed out tee times and then it just started pouring.
“It wasn’t very nice outside. I really appreciated the markers who hung in there with us.”
Jordin Greer finished in second place for the Lady Cards, shooting a 96.
Karisa Schremmer placed seventh with 108, Presley Smith took ninth with 114 and Alyson Klug captured 10th at 115.
Sydney Boxberger rounded out Hoisington’s team, taking 13th at 125.
The Lady Cardinals qualified for the 3-1A state tourament, which will be held at Soutwind Country Club in Garden City on Monday.
