NESS CITY — The St. John High School volleyball team swept a Ness City triangular on Tuesday evening, beating La Crosse and the host Lady Eagles.
The Lady Tigers, who are the defending Class 1A Division-I state champions, toppled La Crosse in two sets, 25-12 and 25-10.
St. John beat the Lady Eagles 25-15 and 25-14, making the Lady Tigers 4-1 in Central Prairie League play.
“We passed the ball a little bit better than we have been,” St. John head coach Trish Wade said. “We’re doing OK. We’ve hit a little bit of a dry spell the last couple of weeks.”
The Lady Tigers, who are ranked second in 1A Division-I, are 23-6 overall.
They host Kinsley and Macksville in a triangular on Tuesday, Oct. 8, starting at 4 p.m.

Lady Oilers remain
undefeated in CPL play
CLAFLIN — The Central Plains High School volleyball team toppled Macksville in two games in a dual on Tuesday evening.
The Lady Oilers won 25-18 and 25-13.
Central Plains advances to 13-9 overall, 5-0 in CPL action.
“We’ve been kind of off and on,” Lady Oilers Britney Tenbrink said. “Sometimes we play really good, and other times we don’t.
“We have played well in league matches. We played a great match against St. John a couple weeks ago. ”
The Lady Oilers host Smoky Valley and Ellsworth in a triangular on Thursday, starting at 5 p.m.
