Larned golfer earns top honors at Lake Barton

ARTON COUNTY — Larned High’s Colton Massey earned his second consecutive medalist honor with a 78 Thursday at the Hoisington Golf Invitational at Lake Barton Golf Course. The players battled winds gusting past 30 mph and hard and fast greens.
Other top 10 finishers were Ellinwood’s Theron Sjopgren, third, 84; Central Plains’ Alex Hickel, fourth, 84; Ellinwood’s Connor Ewing, sixth, 85; Hoisington’s Steffan Dolechek, ninth, 90; and Larned’s Brandon Bartz, 10th, 90.
Trego-WaKeeney High School placed first (359) followed by Larned (368). Hoisington placed third (369) and Central Plains finished fourth (375).
