LARNED 57, SW HEIGHTS 37
LARNED — Trevor Meyer scored 19 points to spark Larned’s boys past Southwestern Heights 57-37 in the Class 3A Lakin basketball substate. The Indians (14-7) play Sterling (16-5) at 6 p.m. Thursday at Lakin. Sterling defeated Larned 60-50 in their CKL showdown.
Evan Skelton added 14 points for the Indians, who outscored the Mustangs 32-16 in the second half. Marcos Aguirre led the Mustangs with 14 points. Leading scorer Jorge DeLaTorre was held to six points.
“We guarded them well, When we guard and rebound and don’’t turn the ball over, I like our chances,” said Larned coach Don Zimmerman.

BELOIT – Beloit’s boys roared to a dominating 40-12 halftime lead and coasted past Hoisington 81-56 in the Norton Class 3A basketball substate.
Hoisington (8-13) was paced by standout senior Steffan Dolechek with 15 points and Ryan Broeder (12) and Kyle Lang (11) scored in double figures.
Beloit (15-6) was led by Colton Reames with 21 points and Luke Hesting added 16 points.

CENTRAL PLAINS GIRLS 78, ELLINWOOD 17
CLAFLIN – Janae Ryan made six 3-pointers and scored 20 poiints to spark the No. 1 ranked Central Plains girls (21-0) past Ellinwood 78-17 in the St. John Class 2A basketball substate.
The Oilers made 11 3-pointers. Reagan Phelan scored 14 points and Kylee Kasselman added 12 points. The Oiler girls have won the last two Class 2A state titles. The  Oilers play in Thursday’s Class 2A semifinals at St. John.
Ellinwood (3-18) was led by Maddie Hayes with six points.

The Tigers placed Caleb Karst (17) and freshman Kade Scott (15) in double figures. The Tigers (6-12) play Hutchinson Central Christian (17-4) at 6 p.m. Thursday at Burrton.

GREENSBURG — Kiowa County’s girls shut down St. John’s offense in a 47-19 victory in the St. John Class 2A basketball substate.
Torre Fisher led the Tigers (6-15) with five points and Bailey Burns added four points. Janessa Zenger scored nine points for the Mavericks (12-9), who outscored the Tigers in all four quarters.

Sophie Filbert and Olivia Vosburgh each scored six points for the Mustangs (5-16).
Rylee Alexander contributed 14 points, 14 rebounds and seven steals. Taylor Bayne had four steals.
