KINGMAN — Larned’s Colton Massey shot 2-over par 74 to defend his Central Kansas League golf championship. Larned won the team title (331) by defeating perennial champion Hesston (342) at Kingman’s Eagles Golf Course.
Larned’s Brandon Bartz placed runner-up (77) and Braeden Corman (87) tied for fifth. Jake Simmons (93) placed 15th.
The Indians will attempt to qualify for the 4A state golf tournament at Hays’ 4A regional Monday at Smoky Hill Country Club. Defending 4A state champion Hays High is a lock to capture one of the team berths. Hays finished runner-up in the Western Athletic Conference.
