CHENEY — Larned High captured the team title and Dorothy Keenan captured medalist honors with an 88 at the Central Kansas League-Central Prairie League Tournament at Cherry Oaks Golf Course. Keenan birdied the sixth hole to highlight her round.
Larned posted a team score of 381 that finished 24 strokes ahead of Pratt.
Larned’s Emma Ayre placed runner-up with a season low score of 93. Haley Skelton placed eighth (99) in a two-way tie. Madison Gleason (101) placed as 11th medalist. Sierra Smith (125) and Jaicee Walker (129) also competed.
Larned will be the site of a Class 4A golf regional Monday. Teams competing are Colby, Goodland, Hays, Hays-Thomas More Prep, Holcomb, Hugoton, Larned, Pratt and Ulysses. State qualifiers advance to Class 4A state at Kansas City’s Dub’s Dread Golf Club Oct. 20.
