LHS sweeps Ellinwood Tournament

ELLINWOOD — Larned High recorded a perfect day with 16 consecutive victories to sweep the No. 1 singles and doubles and No. 2 singles and doubles at the Ellinwood Tennis Invitational.
Larned’s No. 1 singles Amanda Lessard, No. 2 singles Kristin Anderson and the No. 1 doubles team Macy Haas and Katelynn Sanger and the No. 2 doubles Ali Leiker and Abby Kelty all won four matches. The Indians scored 20 points and Tribune-Greeley County placed second with 11 points.
Lessard defeated Hutchinson Trinty’s Gabi Palmer 8-2 in the finals. Anderson defeated Kiowa County’s Christen Osborn 8-4 in the finals.
At No. 1 doubles, Haas and Sanger downed Greeley County’s Morgan Woelk and Daniela Veleta 8-4 in the championship match. At No. 2 doubles, Leiker and Kelty downed Greeley County’s Abby Berggren and Caela Ibarra 8-5 in the finals.
Ellinwood’s No. 1 singles Sarah Frakes finished fourth. No. 2 singles Taryn Robl placed fifth.
ELlinwood’s No. 1 doubles Tara Collins and Katelyn Robinson finished third. No. 2 doubles Katelyn Reh and Macy Munson placed fourth.
