Moyd focusing on gold

DeleteMatt Moyd has a vision, and he has that look in his eye, too.
The talented Great Bend High School junior envisions winning the Class 5A championship in the 110-meter hurdles this weekend at the state track and field meet in Wichita.
Moyd also runs the anchor on the Panthers’ state-qualifying 4x100-meter dash, along with being a state qualifier in the 100.
For a guy that wears as many different hats as Moyd, the single event he can hang his hat on is the 110 hurdles. He had a season-personal-best 15.03 this season at the regional meet in Wichita for the gold.
Moyd spent the last few days of the Panthers’ workouts fine-tuning his technique.
“I just need to keep practicing because there’s so many other guys who have better form clearing the hurdles and I need to learn off of that,” Moyd said. “I need to transition it over to me, to keep speed and bring a hurdles championship back to Great Bend High School.”
