Central Plains 73, Macksville 37

MACKSVILLE — Jacob Warnken led three Oilers in double figures as No. 1 ranked Class 2A Central Plains downed Macksville 73-37 in a Central Prairie League basketball game.
Michael Ryan and Alex Barton each scored 12 points for the Oilers (7-0, 1-0 CPL), who made seven 3-pointers. The Oilers led 36-15 at halftime. Dodge City visits Central Plains Tuesday.
Russell Brigdon and Diego Delgadillo each scored nine points for the Mustangs (3-4, 0-1 CPL). The Mustangs made six 3-pointers.

MACKSVILLE — The No. 1 ranked Class 2A Central Plains girls rolled past Macksville 75-23 in a Central Prairie League basketball game. The Oilers (7-0, 1-0 CPL) were led by Janae Ryan with 23 points and Taylor Rolfs added 18 points. The Oilers made eight 3-pointers and led 30-5 after one quarter and 53-16 at halftime.
Macksville (2-5, 0-1 CPL) was led by Emma Stimatze with 10 points.
Dodge City visits Central Plains Tuesday.

LARNED — Jordan Zimmerman scored 16 points to pace Larned past Hillsboro 55-34 in a Central Kansas League basketball game. The Indians’ defense held the Trojans’ 3-point shooting under control.
Trevor Meyer added 12 points for the Indians (7-1, 2-0 CKL). Hillsboro (5-2, 1-1 CKL) was led by freshman Darian Ratzlaff with 15 points.

Larned (1-7, 0-2 CKL) was paced by Erin Smith with eight points and Kelsey Parr, Haley Skelton and Aarika Bright each had seven points.

The Cardinals (1-6, 0-2 CKL) were led by Steffan Dolechek with 12 points and Ryan Broeder added 10 points.

HAVEN — Haven’s girls broke a 30-30 tie for a 44-39 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Hoisington.
Hoisington’s Emma Harmon hit back-to-back three-pointers for a 30-30 tie. Haven’s Emmiley Hendrixson and Mary Wagler responded with three pointers. Hendrixson and Jaycee Ummel each made three free throws for Haven (6-2, 1-1 CKL) in the final quarter. Hendrixson scored 11 points and Katelynn Stucky added 10 points.
Rylie Koester led Hoisington (5-2, 1-1 CKL) with 12 and Harmon chipped in nine points.

NESS CITY — St. John handed held Ness City its first loss in a 53-39 Central Prairie League basketball victory.
St. John (7-1, 2-0) placed Jorge Calleros (12), Cole Kinnamon (11), Chase Fisher (11) and Jacob Milton (11) in double figures. Kinnamon had three assists.
Ness City (7-1, 0-1 CPL) shot 36 percent. Chandler Stiawalt led Ness City with nine points off 3 of 14 shooting.

Ness City girls 49, St. John 31

CUNNINGHAM — St. John’s Bailey Burns scored 17 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter in a 49-31 Central Prairie League loss to Ness City Friday.
Jaycie Richardson and Makenna Fritts scored 11 points apiece for Ness City (5-2, 1-0). Ness City led 27-14 at halftime.
Victoria’s boys made it a clean sweep with a hard fought 48-43 victory.

Taylor Regan led the Cougars (3-5 0-1 CPL) with 12 points. Haley Vondracek and Madison Schneider each scored eight points. Victoria’s boys won the nightcap 48-43 to improve to 4-2 (1-0 CPL).
