Oiler, Ellinwood trio make state tennis

HESSTON – Central Plains Oiler Emily Ryan defeated Wichita Independent’s Sense Cadman, 6-2, 6-2 to capture a 3A regional tennis title. Ryan (29-2) placed fifth in singles last year.
Ellinwood’s Mikayle Menges placed sixth and Ellinwood’s doubles team of Tara Collins and Katelyn Reh placed fifth to qualify for the 3A state tournament next weekend. Elyria’s McKenzie Archer beat Menges, 6-1, 6-0 for fifth place.
Collins and Reh defeated Hutchinson Trinity’s Noelle Graham/Gracie Diaz, 6-1, 7-5 for fifth place.
