OTIS-BISON GIRLS 47, INGALLS 38

RANSOM – Maddie Wiltse scored 25 points and Cora Anderson added 15 points as the Cougars’ height overpowered Ingalls 47-38 in Friday’s 1A Western Plains basketball regional. Wiltse and Anderson scored inside and blocked several Ingalls shots.

Ingalls was within 25-22 when Wiltse and Anderson combined for 12 consecutive points, the final basket by Anderson off an assist by Cristen Trapp.

The Cougars (15-6) will meet Quinter (16-5) in Saturday’s championship game. Otis-Bison placed third at the 1A-Division 2 state last year and has qualified for the state basketball tournament four times.

QUINTER GIRLS 67, PAWNEE HEIGHTS 38

RANSOM – Quinter’s Brittney Walt scored 32 points to spark a 67-38 victory in the semifinals of the 1A Western Plains basketball substate. Walt converted five 3-pointers. Kylie Crist added 14 points. Quinter (16-5) meets Otis-Bison (15-6) in Saturday’s championship game.

Pawnee Heights (10-12) was paced by ninth-grader Cadence Nondorf with a career high 15 points. Jaden Carlson added nine points. It was the best basketball record in years for the Tigers.
