Panther swim team wraps up season at state

TOPEKA— Great Bend High’s girls swim team concluded their season during last week’s state meet at Topeka’s Capital One Natatorium. The Panthers finished in 21st place out of 30 other 5A teams from around the state.
 
OP-Blue Valley Southwest won the state crown with 379 points while St. Thomas Aquinas came in as a distant runnerup at 178. Newton and Andover rounded out the top four finishers with 170 and 169 points respectively.

Kira Cook was the only GBHS swimmer to finish with a top ten performance as she came in ninth in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 2:06.15.
