Panthers compete at McPherson Invitational

McPHERSON — Hutchinson High School shot a combined 318 to claim first place on Thursday at par-70 Turkey Creek Golf Course.

Buhler placed second at 323, followed by Arkansas City (324) and Maize (325). Newton and Derby tied for fifth at 329.

Hays (331), Sterling (338), Great Bend (343), Winfield (345), El Dorado (353), St. John-Hudson (404) and Campus (449) rounded out the field, where the top-4 players' scores were kept for team scoring.

Maize's Kale Reynolds was the medalist at 67 and Sterling's Michael Hendricks placed second, seven strokes off the pace with a 74. Hutchinson's Jack Howard, Derby's Jeremy Dunham and Hutchinson's Turner Wintz finished tied for third on the leader board at 75.

Great Bend's top finisher was Chance Haney, who shot 79.
