PAWNEE HEIGHTS 53, WESKAN 47
ROZEL — Pawnee Heights tailback Kade Scott rescued the Tigers with six touchdowns for a 53-47 overtime semifinal victory over Weskan, last year’s 6-man state football champion. The Tigers (7-0) avenged a loss in the state title game against Weskan and qualified for Saturday’s 6-man state championship against Cheylin (6-2). Kickoff is 4 p.m. Saturday at Dodge City.
“Weskan came at at us with everything,” said Pawnee Heights coach Jeff Chambers. “They made a great ballgame of it. Having a week off makes it tough. Things happen in games that you can’t simulate in practice.” 
Cheylin beat Golden Plains 38-27 in the second semifinal. Back Manuel Castillo rushed for four touchdowns and 233 yards. Quarterback Colton McCarty rushed for a touchdown and passed to Miguel Gonzales for a touchdown. 
Pawnee Heights defeated Cheylin 52-26 in their first meeting Sept. 29. Scott rushed for 250 yards and five touchdowns. Castillo scored two touchdowns and Weskan gained 302 yards rushing. The teams combined for 804 yards.

LYONS – Hoisington tailback Sean Urban scored six first-half touchdowns as the Cardinal football team roared past Lyons 55-0 in 3A, District 15. The Cardinals (6-3) travel to Cimarron (7-2) in Tuesday’s 3A playoffs. Lyons (0-9) has lost 20 consecutive football games.
Urban rushed for 259 yards, scored on runs of 5, 9, 49, 63, 63 yards and added a 55-yard interception return. Urban has rushed for 1,233 yards. The Cardinals gained 376 first-half yards. Holt Hanzlick and Chandler Blackwell recovered fumbles.

ELLINWOOD 52, CANTON-GALVA 26
CANTON – Ellinwood tailback Drew Blake scored a school record eight touchdowns as the Eagles spoiled Canton-Galva’s Senior Night 52-26 in Eight-Man 1, District 5.
Blake scored on a 40-yard touchdown on his first carry and added a 60-yard touchdown on his second carry. Blake continued to dominate on the ground behind excellent blocking by the Eagles.
Ellinwood (2-7, 1-4) broke a seven-game losing streak after winning its season opener over Kinsley. Canton-Galva (4-5, 2-3) missed a chance at a winning record.

ROZEL – The Pawnee Heights Tigers worked overtime for one of the greatest football victories in school history.
The Tigers (7-0) outlasted rival Weskan 53-47 in overtime to qualify for the Kansas 6-man state championship. The Tigers' Kade Scott scored in overtime and turned back Weskan on the final drive in overtime. The Tigers also stopped Weskan’s game-winning extra point on regulation.
The Tigers will play in the 6-man state championship in Dodge City Nov. 4.
