PRATT — State-ranked Pratt overpowered Hoisington’s baseball team 11-1 and 14-0 in a pair of Central Kansas League run-rule victories.
The Cardinals (6-14) play state-ranked Nickerson (19-1) in Tuesday’s Hoisington 4A baseball regional. The Panthers have won back-to-back CKL titles and placed fourth in 4A last year. Pratt (16-2) is the top seed at the 4A Holcomb baseball regional.
PRATT 11, HOISINGTON 1 (G1) — Jacon Specht scored the Cardinals’ fifth inning run.
Pratt scored seven unearned runs off five Cardinal errors. Landen Studer, Travis Theis, Grant Bolen, Zachary Shanline, Wyatt Schrag and Hunter Huber drove home runs.
PRATT 14, HOISINGTON 0 (G2) — Isaac Prosser delivered a double and single and Holt Hanzlick, Myles Menges added singles in a lopsided loss. Five Cardinal errors handed Pratt nine unearned runs.
The Greenbacks scored nine second-inning runs. Pratt’s No. 9 hitter Nathan Kolm drove home four runs. Theis and Bolen each drove home two runs,
