Russell tops Lady Eagles in overtime to open season

RUSSELL — It took more than four quarters, but Russell High School’s girls’ basketball team put Ellinwood away in overtime.
Tied at 47 at the end of regulation, Russell outscored Ellinwood 14-11 in overtime for a 61-58 win.
Rachel Doll led the Lady Eagles with 28 points.
Sophie Hayes added 10 points.
