Sanchez takes first place at West Invite

HAYSVILLE— Jesus Sanchez continues his hot streak winning yet another cross country run. The Great Bend eighth grader posted a first place finish in a time of 11.23 at Thursday’s Haysville West Invitational.

Other top 20 finishers for the eighth grade team include Ryan Nicholson who placed sixth in 12:23. Joshua Tomlin came in eighth at 12:32 while Connor Griffith polled a tenth place finish in 12:35. Israel Franco finished with a time of 12:43 for 12th place. Sage Cauley and Luke Maneth placed 14th and 15th in times of 12:48 and 12:49.

In the eighth grade girls’ race McKenna Esfeld placed 14th in 14:49. Crystal Vasquez recorded a time of 15:02 good for 18th place.

Jaime Arellanes finished in 15th place in the seventh grade boys’ run clocking in at 6:02.

Jordyn Stukey and Aubrey Snapp were top 20 finishers in the seventh grade girls race. Stukey finished in 17th place in 7:00 while Snapp, a second behind, placed 20th with a time of 7:01.
