Heavy snow in the area has forced cancellation of Friday night's Western Athletic Conference basketball games at Hays between high school rivals Great Bend and Hays.

The Great Bend Lady Panthers will host either Maize South or Valley Center in a first-round Class 5A sub-state tournament game next Wednesday at Panther Fieldhouse.

The Great Bend Panthers will travel to either Hays or Salina Central for first-round sub-state action next Thursday.
