HOISINGTON — Hoisington’s boys pushed Central Kansas League champion to the limit, but the Swathers scored the final eight points for a 58-50 Central Kansas League basketball victory. Zach Vogt sparked the Swathers’ game-ending run with a go-ahead basket for a 52-50 lead.
Hesston (16-2, 9-0 CKL) clinched a tie for the CKL basketball title. Zach Vogt led the Swathers with 18 points. Scott Duerksen (12), Zach Esau (11) and Jon Weber (10) scored in double figures. Esau dished out three assists.
Hoisington (8-10, 3-6 CKL) was paced by Ryan Broeder with a career high 19 points and Steffan Dolechek added 18 points and five assists. Brenner Donovan dished out four assists.

Rylie Koester scored 19 points for Hoisington (12-6, 5-4 CKL). Hesston (14-4, 7-2 CKL) led 28-16 at halftime and 38-22 after three periods.

The Oilers (18-0, 6-0 CPL) were paced by Janae Ryan with 17 points and five 3-pointers and Reagan Phelan with 16 points and a pair of 3-pointers. The Oilers led 21-6 after one quarter and 34-12 at halftime. Oiler all-stater Taylor Rolfs is sidelined with a foot injury. Ness City (8-9, 3-4 CPL) was led by Alexis Clarke with eight points.
