ST. JOHN – Super-sub Mason Osborne scored 13 points and contributed six assists Tanner Halling added 12 points to spark the No. 1 ranked St. John boys past Kinsley 72-21 in the Class 2A Kiowa County basketball substate.
Cole Kinnamon had five steals. The Tigers roared to a 44-0 lead before Kinsley’s Bryce Herrmann made a basket. St. John (20-1) advances to Thursday’s semifinal at Greensburg.

CLAFLIN – Alex Hickel led four players in double figures with 17 points as state-ranked Central Plains roared past Medicine Lodge 72-46 in Monday’s Class 2A Kiowa County basketball substate.
The Oilers (16-5) also placed Devin Ryan (16), Alex Barton (16) and Brett Liebl (16) in double digits. The Oilers play Macksville (15-6) in Thursday’s semifinals.

MACKSVILLE – Macksville’s Jacob Rein led a balanced offense with 13 points and four assists to spark the Mustangs past Ellinwood 49-24 in Monday’s Class 2A Kiowa County basetball substate. Karson Waters added 11 points andfive steals for Macksville (15-6), which plays Central Plains (16-5) in Thursday’s semifinals. Brigdon Russell contributed four steals.
Zack Jacobs led Ellinwood (6-15) with nine points.
