LACROSSE — The No. 2 state-ranked Class 2A St. John Tigers placed five players in double figures in a 71-39 Central Prairie League basketball victory over LaCrosse. St. John (14-1, 5-0 CPL) played one of its best games of the season by sharing the basketball flawlessly and converting turnovers into easy points with an effective halfcourt trap.
The Tigers were led by Chase Fisher (14) with Cole Kinnamon (13), Alexis Valenzuela (10), Quincy Smith (10) and Triston Long (10) scoring in double figures keyed by solid passing.
The Tigers, who travel to Victoria Friday, led 45-19 at halftime. LaCrosse (7-10, 2-4 CPL) was led by Kadin Trower with 13 points.
