at Andale

The Great Bend High School volleyball team takes one of three at the Andale quadrangular Tuesday giving it a record of 3-13.
The Lady Panthers beat Chaparral, 25-17, 22-25 and 25-12, but lost to Cheney (25-8, 25-21) and Andale (25-16, 25-21).
Great Bend will play Saturday at the Tonganoxie Tournament.

LARNED — The Larned High School volleyball team went 0-3 at home Thursday, losing to Kinsley, Ellinwood and Hill City.
Hill City swept its opponents beating Larned, 25-11 and 25-13 in a best-of-three match. Hill City also beat Ellinwood, 25-20 and 25-17, and Kinsley, 25-12 and 25-9.

Kinsley def. Larned 25-18, 25-13.
Ellinwood def. Larned 25-9, 25-13.
Hill City def. Larned 25-11, 25-13.

HAYS — Sylvan Grove’s Legion baseball team rallied for a 5-4 victory over Ellinwood on Colin Obermueller’s game-winning single in Wednesday’s AA Russell Zone baseball tournament. The game was moved to Hays from Russell because of a unplayable field.Ellinwood (9-10) plays Thursday against the Marysville-Smith Center loser.Ellinwood led 4-1 after 41/2 innings. Sylvan Grove led 1-0 when Dylan Fry scored a first-inning run.Ellinwood’s Levi Swenson scored a second-inning run on a double steal with Evan Johanning.
