Werth, Unruh state-bound

HAYS — Maddie Werth and Tanisha Unruh of Great Bend High School qualified for the Class 5A state golf tournament after finishing in the top 14 at the regional meet on Monday at Smoky Hill Country Club.
Werth finished with a 107 and Unruh carded a 114.
Hays won the regional crown, shooting a team score of 364, and Salina South was a distant second at 435.
Great Bend finished in fifth place at 476.
