SALINA — The Salina Stockade outscored the Great Bend Boom baseball team 9-7 Saturday in a Pecos League game. The Boom (9-10) plays the Topeka Train Robbers at home Monday and Tuesday at Al Burns Field.
STOCKADE 9, BOOM 7 — The Boom nearly rallied from a 9-3 deficit at Dean Evans Stadium. Tevin Padgett singled and scored on a first-inning error. Logan Trowbridge homered for a 2-0 lead. Trowbridge singled and scored on Kedeem Octave’s groundout for a 3-0 lead after three innings.
The Stockade bunched together a trio of 3-run innings for a 9-3 lead after six innings.
Dominique Lincoln doubled and scored on Matt Rembielak’s groundout in the eighth inning. Darryl Baca’s double scored Patrick Barnett and Padgett after a hit-by-pitch and walk for a 9-6 score.
Logan Clifton’s single scored Kirby Campbell in the ninth inning. The tying runner was stranded when pitcher Chad Flick struck out Rembielak to end the game.
