ST. JOHN GIRLS 54, LARNED 32 – The Lady Tigers of St. John proved rude hosts as they roughed up the Larned Lady Indians 54-32 in the St. John Mid-Winter Classic.
Heidi Fisher led the scoring parade with 20 points but Lydia Reed posted 12, Mia Meyer 8 and Reagan Bonner 7. St. John made 19 of 35 field goal attempts for 54% and converted 15 of 25 free throws.
St. John grabbed a 16-8 first quarter lead and were never challenged as their swarming defense forced Larned into numerous bad shots, resulting in a poor shooting night. Larned converted 5 of 25 first-half shots.
Fisher was either scoring or threading pin-point passes for easy baskets for her teammates. The result was a hot-shooting night for the Lady Tigers and trips to the free throw line.
Larned's Akielah Collins scored eight points. Abby Holt and Makenzie Reinert each added six points. Larned made 12 of 56 shots for 21% and only 6 of 15 from the free throw line.
Larned will meet Macksville in Saturday's 11:30 a.m. fifth-place game.

WICHITA SUNRISE 53, MACKSVILLE 47 – Sunrise's Sandra Hracka scored 24 points and the winners converted six 3-pointers to hold off pesky Macksville.
Mustang Mayce Russell scored 16 points. Kambry Adams contributed seven points, three assists and 11 rebounds.
