CENTRAL CHRISTIAN GIRLS 41, ST. JOHN 32

LITTLE RIVER – St. John freshman Darby Smith scored 16 points, but the Tigers fell shy 41-32 against Hutchinson Central Christian in Thursday’s 1A Little River basketball regional.

Smith hit a 3-pointer to end the third quarter. But the Cougars (19-2) held off the Tigers paced by Krystan Bartlett with 15 points and Lindsey Kauffman with eight points.

PRETTY PRAIRIE GIRLS 51, LITTLE RIVER 44

LITTLE RIVER – Pretty Prairie’s Blair Hollenbeck drilled five 3-pointers to score 19 points as the Bulldogs downed Little River 51-44 in Thursday’s 1A basketball regional.

The Bulldogs (14-8) advance to play Hutchinson Central Christian (19-2). Kaylie Zimmerman led the Redskins with 13 points and Emma McBride added 12 points.
