The Stafford Trojan girls will be led by first-year coach Nick Minks.

STAFFORD — Stafford girls basketball co-coaches Nicholas Minks and Isaac Burnett will be joined by assistants Colson Minks and Jamie Kreutzer.

The Trojans blessed with four sophomores and five incoming freshmen, who will provide quality depth for a 10-player Trojan roster.

Minks is a Stafford graduate who has coached junior high boys and girls for three years.

"Our coaching staff is focused on turning the girls program around and doing whatever it take," Minks said. "We’re a young team with our focus on defense and toughness."

Key returnees for Stafford are 5-6 Emily Delgadillo (4.5 ppg), 5-7 Peyton Roush (3.5 ppg) and 5-5 Emma Mathes (1 ppg). The Trojans compete in the Heart of the Plains League.

"We expect a lot out of our talented freshman class," Minks said. "They bring speed and toughness to our team. Our goals are to build a winning culture and compete at the highest level."

The Trojans (2-18) defeated Chase 49-32 and Centre 62-23 for their two wins last season. Pretty Prairie won 48-17 over the Trojans in 1A postseason play.
